A Study on Improvement of School Lunch Program in a Demonstration School(I)

Abstract

|
The school health program, including the school lunch has been recently recognized and appraised as one of the most important fields for promotion of the school population. This has been true especially after promulgation of the school health law in 1967. However, the law could not cover the school lunch program because of the large amount of budget required to have a school lunch program in every elementary school. This is one reason why the school lunch program is developing very slowly.
In 1972, in an effort to improve the school lunch program, the. Ministry of Education established demonstration schools in each province as a pilot project. This was done after much revision of the program, both in structure And content. The following study was done using clinical observation and anthropometry and laboratory tests along with a post survey to compare the demonstration school and with a control school after one-year-school feeding in order to discover any improvement.
